We are getting reports that most of the 2025 pressed penny designs have been replaced with new 2026 designs. From what we have heard so far is that all the 2025 designs have been replaced except for the two machines inside the Emporium at Magic Kingdom that each had four 2025 designs. Last year there were sixteen 2025 pressed penny designs. This year it appears that there may be eighteen pressed coins for 2026. So far there are two 2026 coins at Disney Springs Pin Traders that did not have 2025 coins.

Pictures of the faceplates with these two 2026 designs are shown below. The 2026 Minnie design replaced the Pluto design that was in this machine. The other machine had a design with Rex from Toy Story and it was replaced with a 2026 Mickey design.

We have also noticed something that we were wondering about since the one cent coin will no longer be made for circulation. Disney in the past has been using uncirculated pennies in their preloaded pressed penny machines. We have already heard about other pressed penny machines at locations in other states using old circulated pennies and we were hoping that Disney would not do this and would do something else. What we are noticing is that the faceplates and screens are being changed to remove any wording that says penny or pennies. What is starting to be used instead of pennies is what appears to be copper plated zinc planchets that are a penny without the Lincoln cent obverse and reverse designs stamped on them.
