New Test Track Designs

Saturday, December 8th, 2012

The Test Track attraction at EPCOT reopened on Friday, December 7, 2012 after being closed since April 16. The pressed coin machine that was located at the Inside Track gift shop has been unavailable while changes were being made to this attraction.

This morning, the pressed coin machine was put back on-stage and it has a sticker on it saying "ALL BRAND NEW DESIGNS". There are two new designs, but the one design with Goofy sitting beside a road caution cone is still the same design. The position of the die for this design has been moved from the button "B" selection to button "C".

Below is a picture of part of the faceplate showing the designs that are currently available for this machine.

Checklist and Listings Were Updated Today

Sunday, September 30th, 2012

Checklists and listings were updated today and a new listing was added. The new listing contains only the various collectible designs that are part of a numbered series. This new listing should make it easier for people that are only interested in collecting these designs.

Most of the changes that were made were due to machines being currently off-stage or have been relocated. To briefly summarize these changes, Beastly Bazaar at Animal Kingdom is being rethemed as a character meet and greet location. The machine that was located there is currently unavailable. It is not known at this time whether the machine will be relocated or removed.

The four die machine that was located near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad by the Tom Sawyer Island Exit has been moved to the Country Bear Jamboree Porch. The machine at the Country Bear Jamboree is not available until October 18 due to refurbishment and changes being made to the show.

The machine at Inside Track at the Test Track at EPCOT is currently not available through November 30.

The machines at the Shades of Green Resort have been moved to Lucky's Snack Bar by the Mill Ponde Pool. The penny machine that contained designs with the Coast Guard, Marines and Air Force is currently off-stage. We have received reports that this machine may not be returning. On our listings, we have marked this machine as being off-stage instead of removing it until we can get more information.

The Land Quarter Machine Change

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

The single die quarter machine at The Land near the Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT has been changed to a three die quarter machine. The design with Soarin' that was in the single die machine is now button "C". Button "A" is the Friends 1 of 8 design with Mike & Sulley that was at Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. Button "B" is the Ratatouille 3 of 5 design with Remy and "Too pretty to eat!" that was at the Scat Cat's Club at Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.

Since both the Friends and Ratatouille designs were originally located in different areas of Walt Disney World, both designs have been assigned an additional catalog number with the "EPC" prefix to denote the designs as being at EPCOT.

France World Showcase Machine Change

Tuesday, June 19th, 2012

The pressed penny machine at France has been changed to a first of its kind at Disney World two die pressed coin machine. At least that is what it appears like, but it is really still a three die machine. The design with Duffy Bear in French clothing that was in this machine for button "C" has been retired.

Here is where things get very interesting and unique with this machine. The faceplate and buttons on this machine only show that there are two designs available. However, there is a secret and hidden third design that you can only get by participating in the new Agent P's World Showcase Adventure that is replacing the Kim Possible Adventure.

Perry the Platypus is the faithful pet of Phineas & Ferb who turns into Agent P to help stop the misguided plans of the villain, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. In this new adventure, guests will transform into secret agents to help Agent P stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz by visiting different World Showcase countries looking for and solving clues. One of the stops will be the pressed penny machine at France.

To be able to get this new secret and hidden Agent P pressed penny design, you will have to solve the clue and use your high tech detection device called a "F.O.N.E" or Field Operative Notification Equipment. By doing this, it will allow you to insert your penny into the pressed coin machine to get this design. What is really unusual is that you will only have to use your own penny and it will not require the normal $0.50 to get.

The pressed penny machine at France will be out of service until the new Agent P's Adventure starts. Below is a picture of the new machine at France:

Monday, June 11th, 2012

The three die pressed penny machine at Typhoon Lagoon has two new designs. For button "A", the vertical design with Surfing Mickey has been replaced with a new horizontal design that has both Lagoona Gator and Mickey Mouse on surfboards. For button "C", Surfing Lagoona Gator has been replaced with Surfing Daisy Duck. Button "B" with the Lilo & Stitch 6 of 7 design remains the same. Below is a picture of the faceplate showing what the current designs are for Typhoon Lagoon.

NOTE: These two new designs were installed while Typhoon Lagoon was closed for annual refurbishment December 4, 2011 to March 17, 2012. We didn't know about these new designs until recently and we believe that they were first available to the general public on March 18, 2012, when Typhoon Lagoon reopened.
